Hi there fam!
First off thank you so much for choosing me to be your most favorite photographer ever (kidding….but not really)
My name is Shelby! Not Belle. Im so excited you chose me to do these photos!
What to expect at your session:
At my sessions we have a relaxed time frame. This leave us time to create ART! Art needs time to be created without a rushing time frame. I am confidently done in at least 1 hour so plan to be there for at that. (you may have a 30 min session—all of these still applies just in a tighter time frame. 30 min sessions will slowly be getting eliminated from my calendar)
Family sessions can feel chaotic, that’s okay. Bring the bribes, and come in with a calm mindset.
I’ve noticed over the years that kids mirror their parents’ energy a lot. If you feel stressed or rushed, they usually do too. So come ready to have fun. I’ve got everything else covered.
I will absolutely pose and direct you the entire time. Your job is to be in tune with your family. Play, cuddle, relax, focus on each other. Do not stare at me the entire time I promise you don’t want those photos! Ha!
Arrival:
Please arrive on time and ready to start! If you're late, it does cut into your session time.If you have anything you need to tell me about your family ahead of time to help with the session success please message or text me!
Outfit guidance (even super basic helps)
You don’t need a whole styling guide, just:
Outfits:
Try to avoid large logos. I love elevated looks, but I also want you to feel like you. I could style you all day, but what you genuinely love matters more..so let’s meet somewhere in the middle.White dresses always photograph beautifully. For little ones, I love seeing those sweet chubby legs and bare toes, skip the stockings and shoes when you can.
For dad/boys, I tend to avoid anything that feels too “churchy” or going to the golf course. Polos are usually a no. I’m always aiming for timeless with texture.
Earth tones photograph best, but keep the season in mind. For example, too much green in the summer (depending on location) can start to blend into the background.
I love mixing patterns and prints when it’s done intentionally, and I’m a big fan of dimension. For example, one boy in overalls, one in shorts, and another in pants. Same for girls: a mix of dresses, skirts, or even denim adds visual interest.
I always recommend mom styles herself first, then builds everyone else around that.
Of course if you need extra help please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
I truly cannot wait to create something beautiful for you.
